The new version 7.0 offers a number of functional innovations as well as a new security package and efficiency optimization. An integral part of the solution is PS IMAGO PRO 7.0 with the latest analysis engine IBM SPSS Statistics 27 at its core.

NEW FEATURES OF QUESTIONNAIRE SURVEYS:

BOOTSTRAP MOBI LAYOUT

A completely new version of the mobile template which is compatible with almost all types of mobile devices and web browsers. It is universal because it is based on Bootstrap open technology offering the possibility to apply ready-made, predefined graphic objects from the library https://icons.getbootstrap.com/.

RANGE TYPE QUESTIONS

Available both as a single slider and as a tabular question. For responsive elements, the object adjusts to the size of the device screen on which it is displayed.

QUESTION DRAWING OBJECT

An effective answer to the problem of leaving surveys while filling them out. Displaying questions in random order allows the researcher to get answers to questions that users do not reach in a traditional survey with a fixed order of questions. Simply insert a set of independent questions into the object and specify the minimum number to be displayed. The algorithm will then randomly select and present them to the respondent.

NEW VISUAL FORMS OF CLASSIC QUESTIONS

Used to “refresh” the classic question types such as true/false, single answer or date with their graphical counterpart. Despite the possibility of using emoticons in the question content, the results collected by the questionnaire system are recorded in the usual, unchanged form.

SAFETY AND EFFICIENCY

The continuous technological evolution makes it necessary not only to make changes in the functional layer, but also to ensure security and optimize efficiency. The new version offers a number of different enhancements and fixes that are broadly related to “compliance”.

NEW PROCEDURES IN TEXT DATA IN PREDICTIVE SOLUTIONS MENU

PS IMAGO PRO 7 offers in its latest version two text analysis methods for content written in Latin script:

CLEAR TEXT

Contains functions for transforming, cleaning and adapting text variables to user-defined guidelines. Among other things, this option allows finding and replacing diacritical characters in Polish, German, Hungarian, Spanish, and Italian, correcting letter size, and removing or replacing white characters, text fragments, or character groups (e.g. numbers only or punctuation only). It can also be used to check for the presence of duplicate characters.

COMPARE TEXT

Contains measures describing the similarity of text strings (Hamming distance; Levenshtein distance; Levenshtein distance – Optimal String Alignment; Jaro distance; Jaro-Winkler distance; Needleman-Wunsch distance; Longest Common Substring).

In addition to the new statistical procedures, existing procedures have also been improved.

POWER ANALYSIS

Power analysis is used in the design and construction of a survey and allows estimating the size of the sample or the power of the test, which contributes to a higher effectiveness of the experimental surveys conducted and the conclusions based on them. It has been implemented for 11 existing tests and statistical methods, including:

• t-test (for one sample, dependent samples and independent samples);
• ANOVA (one factor analysis of variance);
• Binomial test (for one sample, dependent samples and independent samples);
• Correlation (Pearson’s, Spearman’s, partial);
• linear regression of one variable.

WEIGHTED COHEN’S KAPPA COEFFICIENT

Determines the degree of repeatability of classification of observations by more than one evaluator. In addition, this method offers the choice between linear or quadratic weighting of observations.

ABILITY TO ESTIMATE EFFECT SIZE AND CONFIDENCE INTERVALS FOR TESTS.

In PS IMAGO PRO 7.0 you will find:

• Cohen’s d and Hedges correction for t-test for one sample and t-test for dependent samples;
• Cohen’s d, Hedges correction and Glass’s delta for t-test for independent samples;
• the measures eta squared, epsilon squared, fixed effect omega squared, and random effect omega squared for single factor analysis of variance ANOVA. 

IMPROVEMENT OF THE USER INTERFACE FOR QUANTILE REGRESSION, WHICH:

enables the determination of the quantile lattice.

IMPROVEMENTS TO THE MATRIX PROCEDURE

Improvements to the MATRIX procedure are found in the following functions: Probability Distributions, Non-Central Probability Distributions, Random Variable Generation, Significance Levels for Chi-Square and F-Distributions, and the Distribution Function for the Non-Central Beta Distribution.

CHANGES TO THE OUTPUT OBJECTS

A new chart type has been added – the bubble chart, which extends the existing chart functionality for visualizing variables.

Both the Diagram Wizard and the Template Wizard have been improved and are now more compatible and intuitive. Thus, after defining an individual template (e.g. in accordance with a corporate style guide), the user can use it directly for the selected diagram.

The new version also offers easier diagram editing and improved object formatting (including formatting according to APA standard). Care has also been taken to ensure that all exported graphic objects can be saved as high-resolution *.eps files.

IMPROVED WORK EFFICIENCY

In addition to the new statistical procedures, the existing procedures have also been improved.

The usability of the software has been improved. Advanced search for procedures, documentation and command syntax has been implemented in the new version of IBM SPSS Statistics 27.

In addition, thanks to the automatic version backup and restore, the user will not lose work results in case of unexpected technical problems.

CLEARER INTERFACE

The new version of IBM SPSS Statistics also brings visual changes. With bright colors and a new format, the IBM SPSS Statistics interface offers more intuitive navigation.
